Having a passion for textiles and a love of nature has given me a wealth of inspiration for my embroidered pieces of work. I like to work in a free and spontaneous way being inspired by the colours and textures of the fabric I am working with. This is particularly true when constructing my patchwork quilts; I often tear fabrics and then patch and piece them together in a random fashion, adding machine and hand stitching, and finally embellishing with beads and buttons.

If you would like more information about my work, or to commission an article, please contact me.

The fabrics I use are quite diverse, ranging from glorious silks to recycled vintage fabrics which helps the quilts take on a subtlety and charm more associated with antique fabrics.

I also get a great deal of pleasure from making hand made merino wool felt, either to add to an embroidery or to make an entire piece.

Apart from patchwork quilts I enjoy making rag rugs, wall hangings, cushions, bags, spinning a variety of fibres, and painting.

Completing City and Guilds Part 1 and 2 in Creative Embroidery during the 90's was a real journey of discovery, improving my design capabilities and extending my embroidery skills.
